The Traffic Patterns of Our Lives

It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. Josuha 24:17 NIV

Happy New Year to You and Yours!

I pray all is well your way and you are praising our God right along with me. New year and with it comes new revelations along with a renewed hope for good things to come. I said no resolutions, or rather lies, for me this year. This has to be the year to just do the changes and not talk about them. This is my first promise to myself – to write again. So let’s gooooooo!!!!

I was driving to work one morning and was in the right lane about to turn left onto the highway. The right lane was set to merge into the left one as the cars went up the ramp into the traffic. As I allowed a car to jump in front of me, another behind me slowed for us both. We all drove onto the highway and merged into the oncoming traffic.

As I kept driving, I thought about all the cars on the highway. We were all going in the same direction and it didn’t matter what entrance we got on or even where we were going.  At that moment we were all driving and striving to stay in our lanes, keep up with the traffic pattern and get where we going safely.

This is so similar to our walk with the Lord. We all came to know the Lord in many different ways. We all have a story of where we were when Jesus found us and redeemed us from ourselves. While some of us have sad stories of a past filled with mess and regret, some have great stories of knowing God from birth and never straying off the path but just a little. Regardless of your story, like the traffic pattern on Highway 85, we are all now going the same way towards God and living in His ways for our lives.

It now doesn’t matter where you were when you came to know that there is a God who loves you and has called you for His purpose. Now, we are all traveling the same way. What good news that is to me! That in God, we are one, and He loves me just as He loves you! We are going in the same direction, loving God, praising His Name and helping each other along the way. We let others in by testifying of God’s goodness and being His eyes, ears, and hands in the earth.

I am excited about what is to come in 2017! My prayer for us all is that as we navigate through this year, we will do so together. One in love and purpose to be all God would have us to be – lifting as we climb!

May His Peace Be With You Always!

Living Victoriously!

Psalms 23 tells us that as we are led beside the still waters, our souls are refreshed. My prayer is that the words shared here will help to lead you to that place where you can find peace. Only in Christ Jesus is there fullness of joy!

  1. HNY! Wow! My sentiments as well regarding resolutions.
Interesting read and observation. I’ve had a similar thought about life. We’re in this thing together- on this journey….yet some don’t stop or yield to let someone in front of them for fear of being delayed or slowed down. I’ve had similar conversations with my daughter. She mentioned some of her classmates want to be first in line or compete to be in front and I reminded her that they’re all going to the same place ( may arrive at different times) but have the same destination … so why race or compete??? Thought provoking blog.

  2. Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing this inspirational article, I really enjoyed it. And the analogy of Traffic patterns and our lives was right on time. Looking forward to your next piece.
